Men’s Fellowship

The Church of the Good Shepherd offers several ways for men to get together, grow in faith and friendship, and have a little fun at the same time. Check out the following programs and find the right fit for you.

Men’s Life Fellowship

This discussion-based group focuses on building community, fellowship, and discussion of real issues in men’s lives.  This course is a practical introduction to the Christian faith with the opportunity to explore Christianity without being intimidated to ask the difficult questions.

This group offers encouragement and support for your daily life. Now is a great time to join this group and share in fellowship and wisdom. Come to share or come just to listen!

Men’s Life Fellowship also organizes fun, energetic activities outside of the book study and will publicize them to the congregation as they draw near. Be looking for announcements of fishing tournaments, skeet shoots, golf tournaments and more.

Meets Tuesday mornings at 7:00-8:00 a.m. in the Parlor at the Church of the Good Shepherd.

Women’s Fellowship

The Church of the Good Shepherd enjoys the sweet fellowship of women spanning at least three generations. We have a long history of energetic, capable, and compassionate women who have served the Lord and their Church with faithfulness. Come experience the warmth of friendship, the strength of supporters, and the compassion of a caring heart. Come meet and engage with the women of the Church of the Good Shepherd.

Women’s Bible Studies

Groups of women gather weekly at the Church of the Good Shepherd to be fed by the word of God, think theologically, and enjoy fellowship with one another. To learn more, click Bible Studies and Book Groups.

Jenette Hammer Guild

The Jenette Hammer Guild hosts monthly luncheons, each with a program. The guild collects dues which support the mission and ministries of the Church and the community such as summer camp scholarships, purchasing linens, prayer books, hymnals and more. They enjoy gathering for lunch and fellowship every month.

Good Shepherd Egg Ladies

The “Egg Ladies” work in fellowship year round to make and sell decorative Easter eggs made from real egg shells. Many ladies gather weekly to paint, glue, cut, sew, and draw. The “Egg Ladies” have been selling these works of art for over 60 years, and a collection has been on exhibit at the Art Museum of South Texas. Their work is not only real artistry, but effective fundraising. The egg sales have raised substantial funds which have been donated to mission work throughout the community and the world.

Good Shepherds Corner

Founded in 1971 by a group of women from the Church of the Good Shepherd with a heart to help others in need, Good Shepherd’s Corner is a consignment and retail shop that benefits the community in several ways. It has given thousands of dollars in charitable donations to the ministries of the Church, as well as to missions around the city of Corpus Christi. It takes many volunteers to receive, mark, categorize, and display the merchandise. The Corner is always looking for more volunteers. The women who work at the Corner enjoy lively fellowship plus the blessing of being able to interact with the customers and help those in need. Come join this vital ministry.
