Bloss_Matthew193Matthew Bloss
Youth Minister
“Lead me in your truth and teach me, for you are the God of my salvation; for you I wait all the day long.”  Psalm 25:5
My love for the Episcopal Church is rooted in its willingness to be in relationship and prayer will all sorts of folks with different backgrounds and stories.  It is that willingness that inspires and motivates my ministry and is one of the main things I hope to offer Good Shepherd.  While in college, I began to get more involved with church at a ministry level, becoming involved with my campus church’s young adult group and helping to lead the ministry during my senior year.  My positive experience lead me to join the Episcopal Service Corps, where I hoped to explore ministry further, and discern a possible vocation in the church.  Through the Service Corps, I worked at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Houston where I served as Assistant Youth Minister.  My job was extremely rewarding and fun, so after some serious reflection and prayer, I began to seek a job in youth ministry.  That has lead me to Good Shepherd!  I offer myself and my gifts to the families of this parish, and hope that we can all grow together under the light of the Gospel.
Robert Hammitt
Director of Music Ministries and Organist
“Praise to the Lord, the Almighty, the King of creation; O my soul, praise him, for he is thy health and salvation: join the great throng, psaltery, organ, and song, sounding in glad adoration.”
I  have been in the ministry of music all my life. Dedicating my life to the ministry of music in God’s church was never a conscious decision, but rather, an understanding from a very early age. I have a picture of myself at 4 or 5 years old playing my grandmother’s Hammond organ! I began taking piano lessons at the age of 9, organ lessons at 13, and began my first job playing the organ in church at age 15. As an adult, I have been active in the music of the church from children’s choirs, youth choir and adult choirs, as a singer, accompanist, organist and director. I attended Texas Christian University earning a degree in Music with an emphasis in Church music. God has always spoken to me through music. I am blessed to have the opportunity to bring the Word of God to others through music, hopefully bringing them closer to God.
Sandy McCampbell
Director of Children’s Ministries
“I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing.” John 15:5.
I was blessed at an early age by my parents requiring me to attend Sunday School and Church. Following in the footsteps of my mother and grandmother who taught Sunday School in the Methodist Church, I learned at an early age that God is everywhere and the Holy Spirit abides. A teacher by profession, I love to share with children that God moves us on a path to someplace we’ve never been before, and we have to depend on Him to get there.
