Prayer Requests

Prayer is communion with God by thought and by deeds, with words and without. It is an important way we endeavor to know God and to hear him speak and guide us in our lives.

At the Church of the Good Shepherd, we believe in the transformative power of prayer. We know there are times when individuals will need someone to pray with or for them. We are committed to praying with you during your time of need.  As we gather in agreement for God’s loving and powerful hand to move, God is faithful to be present and respond to our prayers.

Ways to Request and Receive Prayer
The Church of the Good Shepherd has many ways you can receive prayer for whatever your circumstances may be. You may request to speak and pray with one of our Clergy. You may also make a prayer request to the Daughters of the King, who will pray for you. Read below to learn more about the Daughters of the King and how to make a prayer request.  All prayer requests are confidential.

Daughters of the King
The Daughters of the King is an international lay order for Anglican, Episcopal, Lutheran and Roman Catholic women who are vowed to prayer, service, and evangelism in their daily lives. The Church of the Good Shepherd has an active chapter which meets regularly to pray and study together. The Daughters of the King pray for our parish, for individuals based on submitted prayer requests and for the wider community and world.

Submit Your Prayer Request
To submit a prayer request, simply fill out a Prayer Request card found in the pew racks or online. On the card, please indicate your preference for public or private prayers. Public prayer requests are given to the Clergy and the Daughters of the King and are also printed in the weekly bulletin (by first name only) so that parishioners may pray for you as well. Private prayer requests are given to the Clergy and the Daughters of the King, but are not printed in the weekly bulletin and are kept confidential.

If you fill out a Prayer Request card from the pew rack, place it in the offertory plate during any service. If you download a Prayer Request card, you may bring or mail it to the Church Office. Prayer Requests can also be submitted online. See below, if you would like to submit a request online, or download a Prayer Request Card.
