Children

“Train a child in the way that he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it.” Proverbs 22:6

The Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd seeks to provide an environment where children can grow in faith and experience God with their natural curiosity, spirituality and joy. The programs offered to children from nursery age to early teens are designed to teach the Bible, essential elements of Christian faith and worship, along with Episcopal traditions in age appropriate ways. The early stages of spiritual formation are the most important as they become the bedrock for a mature faith.

A message from our Director of Children’s Ministries:
The Good Shepherd Children’s Ministries team truly believes that children are a gift from God!  We believe that children come to us with a rich experience with the Holy Spirit.  We strive to teach our children the Lord’s word and His love in a fun, safe, and warm atmosphere.

A Prayer for the Care of Children (BCP, 829)
“Almighty God, heavenly Father, you have blessed us with the joy and care of children: Give us calm strength and patient wisdom as we bring them up, that we may teach them to love whatever is just and true and good, following the example of our Savior Jesus Christ.” Amen
